Question Aruba diving

A friend has a timeshare in Aruba. So we are going the 2nd week of Nov. I know the other two islands are supposed to be superior for diving. But this is where we have accommodations (Divi Divi resort).Anyone been there and have advice? Must see dives, eats, bars??? We met a staff member from JADS dive shop on the Blackbeards Lionfish expedition in July so we will do some dives with them, but I have never been to this island before so, offer up any info you care to please

The diving in Aruba is a lot better than most people think. I saw a lot of good sea life and some neat wrecks, do the Antilla and the Jane sea

I'm short on time this A.M., but quickly

Try the Shrimp Royalle at Iguana Joe's downtown.
Ride local buses as much cheaper then taxis.
Eagle Beach is where we stayed and is very pretty and quiet.
See the backside of the Island too.
Females, forget your hair because the wind blows 24/7
Dive the Antilla and do a night dive too.
Go to grocery store as eating out is very expensive.
There is a taco bell by Eagle Beach.
Bring wetsuit, water is not as warm as you would think.

all for now

Eats: Must go to the Flying Fishbone. Get there right before sunset and get a table right by the water. You will never forget it.

As previously mentioned, dive the Antilla (off Palm Beach) and the Jane Sea (south west coast). When we were there last year at this time, there was some substantial current at the Jane Sea, and the neighboring shallow reef that was the second morning dive. Visibilty was fine, but gets stirred up at the Antilla when the snorkel boats are there. Sponge Reef and the Sonesta airplanes also good dives.

Take a look at some of my photos of last year's dives in Aruba.

In addition to the Flying Fishbone, consider Madame Jeanettte's, quite romantic, and although among the best dining on Aruba, quite pricey. If you have hankering for steak, the Sunset Grille at the Radison was very good. I'd pass on El Gaucho. Ruinas del Mar at the Hyatt was also quite good.

For casual less expensive fare Salt N Pepper had great tapas and Smokey Joe's Island Grill had great ribs and ice cold Balashi beer.

Enjoy!

I looked at Aruba too - from outsider looking in - appeared to be a wreck diver's fantasy more than reefs - but again, its just my impression...

sounds good! I would like to email you Lou,but I don't know how.
Thanks for all the input. The more I hear about Aruba the better I think I will like it. Someone mentioned checking out the other side of the island. What's to see there?

Hey post some info when you get back.. I'm going to Aruba and staying next to the Divi at a place called Tamarijn in January after I get home. It would be nice to get some input. I got an All inclusive you should look into that. All meals, drinks, and activities included. Have fun
