I was thinking of staying there, before I decided on Papa Hogs.. It was about 300 yards from where I stayed... I saw it and decided I needed to swing in a take a look.... Looked like a really nice place. Had the pool and chill area out back on the ocean, and had the dive shop and bar and grill up top. I think this will be where I stay next time I go to Coz. sorry I don't have any real valuable info, but like I said, that will be where I stay next time probably. Good luck!

Hi
Ive stayed at Caribe blu twice. That place is just a gem. Great people running, XTREMELY helpfull with everything. Clean rooms, good air conditioning. Lots of hot water. Cheap edible food on premises for breakfasat and lunch. A sweet pool, and good "chill out" area. Wireless internet in the lobby. All the free bottled water you can consume. All night canteen. GREAT POOL TOWELS. Easy 20 minute walk into town, or a 4$ cab ride. This is not a ""fancy"" place. but its an almost perfect diving hotel. Everthing is clean, working and fresh, just not fancy. Tv's have english channels. Ask them for a refridgerator in your room, and also ask for a first or second floor room....(ya dont want to be hauling gear up too many flights of stairs). All rooms face the beach & have outside sitting areas.
Best of all Blue Angel leaves right from your front yard, and they are a great dive shop. Small fast boats, good DM's and ON TIME. If you dive with them, you have unlimited free tanks for shore dives...and though the reef right there isnt overly special, its still nice...and a great place for twilight shore dives.
Did I miss anything?
Stay there, you'll love it.

We stayed there for 2 weeks in Jan 07, and had a very nice experience. Ditto on everything abcitydiver said. I really liked diving on the little recovering reef just offshore from the hotel (within easy swimming distance).

Only negative things were not having a ceiling fan in the room, and no chairs (I had to "borrow" 2 plastic chairs from the pool area). However, these were minor things compared to all the positive things that the hotel offers.

If you like inexpensive, clean and basic accommodations with friendly staff and a great dive shop on premises, I think you'll really enjoy the Caribe Blu.

I've stayed at Caribe Blu twice. Enjoyed both times. Clean room, nothing real fancy, of course, when making 13 dives in 72 hours, all we do is sleep. It is great to sit on the balcony completing log books watching the world go by on the water.
Blue Angel Divers is next door, across the sidewalk, literally. They have fast boats and good dive guides. The little open air restaurant upstairs of the dive shop serves breakfast and lunch. I haven't had a bad meal there yet. I would definitely stay there again. Have a great trip!

one last note: if you are like me, and you like to read yourself to sleep at night, bring a GOOD reading lamp....there beside lights is almost comical. I just used my headlamp!

We stayed at Caribe Blu in July, and I agree with all the positive posts in this thread. It's pretty close to perfect for a dive hotel. The people who work there couldn't be nicer, the rooms are clean and comfy, lovely view of the sunsets from our deck, oh yeah and in the morning, we could just peek out the window to see when the dive boat was there. We are going back next summer and can't wait.
