Lembeh Straits/ Raja Ampat December/January

On December 23...I am headed to the Lembeh Straits for 5 days...then on to the Sorido Resort in Raja....anyone else headed that way?

Be in Lembeh April 14-18, Raja Ampat April 19-27. I'll trade times with you - your trip is a lot closer

I really can't tell you in a public forum how I really feel

That said, if it wasn't for twin 9 year olds at home, I'd be diving a whole lot more myself. My daughter is getting married in Hawaii Jan 3, so I'll get in a few dives in January. Is Layang Layang off Borneo, or some other part of Malaysia (I think)?

Layang Layang (goggle it) is in the south China Sea....about 2 hours north of Kota Kinbalu....via a slow plane.

Where in Hawaii are you going?....hopefully The Big Island....if so do the Manta dive in Kona....in my top 5 dives.

Oh by the way...one of the reasons I can do all this travel...NO KIDS...LOL

Wedding is on Maui. I have an UW photographer friend from another board I participate on that lives there, so the good news is I will have a private guide that owns his own boat for a couple days - so could be worse

My daughter and future son-law both dive a little (she has maybe 25 dives, and he has yet to do an ocean dive), so I'll do a couple dives with them also (don't want to impose too much on the honeymoon), probably without camera though so I can be a better buddy as they are both relative newbies (I am a hopeless uw cameraholic - so a dive without my camera is REALLY hard- LOL).

Too bad you will not have a chance to head over to Kona for the Mantas. That is the highlite of Hawaii diving....being you will have an experienced diver in Maui he should know some good sites.

Now back to Raja and Lembeh....I am going to take Doxycyline vs Malarone....just got my 50 pills.

Where are you staying in Lembeh? We are trying a new resort this time - NAD over on Lembeh Island. Heard anything about it?

I'm staying at the Lembeh Resort.....I did look at Kasawari Resort but everyone gets their Nitrox from Lembeh (or did) plus I have had friend stay there and loved it.

Have not heard of NAD....looked at their site....damn I wish I saw that before about 1/2 the price I'm paying.....we will have to compare notes...oh wait you do not go till April?

I've been to Lembeh resort twice - you won't be disappointed - first class operation. But it is a tad pricey. Yah, I'm not going till April.
