Thumbs up Favorite Eating spot in Playa Del Carmen??

My wife and I are heading to Playa Del Carmen Dec. 2-7. We usually stay in Coz or Cancun but wanted something different this time. I'm looking for advise on diver's favorite spots in Playa to eat. Any help would be appreciated !!

Food in Playa

If you're going to Playa, you must eat at Babes Noodle Bar. It is quite possibly the best Thai food I have ever had.......I've been there many times myselft and brought a handful of friends, and everyone has loved it. The restaurant is right off of 5th ave on Calle 10.

As far as other restaurants in Playa there arent any that really stand out to me.......

Have a great trip and let me know what you think of Babes.

Johnny rockets !!! Awesome burgers and Onion Rings. If anyone has ever been on a Royal Caribbean Cruise, some of the larger ships have these on board. There's one in town in Playa, about a five minute cab ride from Playacar.

Babes! Awesome food. Other than that, you can't go wrong just walking down the street and going in someplace that looks interesting to you!

Well we asked around and found El Fogon located about 30th ave and calle 30. It was just what we were looking for. All locals eating there. We ate on a table on the sidewalk. 7 of us ate, drank 3-4 Dos XX's apiece and the total bill was $82. We had as much food left as we ate! Great food, but don't let the exterior of building fool you because it is FAR from fancy.

I haven't been there for a while, but for good, cheap seafood, I've always liked Las Brises on the corner of 10th and 4th, not far from the bus depot. No atmosphere, no decor, and there will be tentacles in the seafood tacos.

(If someone knows of a great taqueria in Playa that does excellent tacos al pastor, I'd like to hear about it!)
