Considering trip to Turks and Caicos

I am considering a dive trip to Turks and Caicos this winter. I saw one review that suggested that the walls off Provo were one of the best dive sites in the world, another suggested the best diving was off Grand Turk. Any suggestions for best Island, hotel and/or diving operation. My wife and I have been diving in the Caribbean since 1985 with over 200 dives each. Don't need adventure dives, but enjoy something unique or unusual.

i've been to grand turk twice and did a T&C liveaboard. the best diving in my opinion was on and around grand turk (salt cay, etc.) i posted about it here. let me know if you have any questions.

I'm planning a trip to Provo next summer. From my research I've found that divers enjoy Grand Turk for the diving, which is also close to shore. Provo has good diving, but long boat rides. Provo has more topside activities. Not sure what the cost differential is between the two islands.

We did a liveaboard at T&C as well. Highly recommend this. When we were there, everything on the mainland was very expensive, fish&chip meal, salad, 2 beer....$80.00 usd . It was delicious, even so. Hopefully this has changed. Thank goodness the only meal off boat (upon arrival).
Best diving we've done, sharks every dive, great macro, simply beautiful. Enjoy!

I wouldn't put the walls off Provo in the best dive sites in the world (especially since the walls in question are a long boat ride away around other islands!) but it's good Caribbean diving. I wasn't all that excited about Grand Turk diving, fine but nothing special. The best diving we did in T&C was off South Caicos from a liveaboard but that boat's no longer there and the options for diving there are limited.

There are lots of nice places to stay and eat on Provo, as mentioned it's not a cheap place. There's not a ton of stuff to do there other than diving and other beach/water stuff.

T+C Aggressor was AWESOME. We did 2 days diving and 3 or 4 days whale watching in the whale sanctuary. We could snorkel (not scuba dive) with the humpbacks.

We did the diving off Grand Turk and it was pretty good. Did not dive off Provo.
