I would recommend an outing to the Ostrich farm. I've heard about it for years and finally made it there last year. Rather out of the way and tricky to find if you're driving. But the kids would probably like it. Interesting little tour with fun stories, you get to feed them by hand if you want and hold and stand on an ostrich egg and see the babies. They have a nice gift shop and a few other animals to see, and the African themed restaurant was quite good with lots of food for the price. Naturally lots of ostrich on the menu.

The aquarium is not huge but would probably be fun too, and it's close.

Been there, july 2005. Well when I was there Ocean Encounters was a short distance away and stopped at Breezes dock to pick up passengers. Not much of a dive shop at breezes. Just weights and tanks. The shore dive there is supposed to be nice but we opted not to do it as we were newly certified and it entailed a surface swim across a small inlet to the marker bouy and the inlet was a high traffic(sailboats and small watercraft) area. I also have to mention that we were there during the hurricanes cindy and dennis and the waves were breaking over the jetty surrounding the lagoon. You of course will not have this problem. We did boat dives with Habitat divers because every time ocean encounters did go out they were booked up. We dove Porto Marie and Cas Abou and had a great time with them. We also did shore dives at the Tug Boat in Caracas Baii with Dukes Diving, both guided and unguided. There is a nice little wall that surrounds the tug boat area as well as the boat itself. We did Jan Thiel beach with Scuba Doo they also have a nice little beach and resteraunt called Zanzibar at the time. We dove at the Seaquarium and fed the fish (highly reccomended for the kids) and they have other diving encounters as well. Breezes itself was great and there is plenty to do as well as excursions outside of the resort that they organize. The food was pretty good as well and the staff was quite helpful. My kids were 13 and 15 and they loved it. Shopping in Punda was fun but of course rough on the wallet. Also bargain with the taxi drivers and you can get great deals and tours of the island quite reasonable. Have fun!
