I dived cayman salvager wreck in key west last year. Visibility was great. currents were horrible. not much to see though. saw a turtle, grouper and a few small fish.

See if they can take you out by boat to Dry Tortuga Island. I snorkeled it in 2004 and saw some huge tarpon, a goliath grouper. There is no shore diving there, but several dive shops that do boat dives, short rides to the dive sites, not much to see.

There is some very nice diving to do a little north: in key largo... go to the John Pellican natl park, which has a spanish galleon to dive, there is also the spigel grove to dive... We doce with quiescence... a niece shop with little uncrowded boat

Looe key is a nice dive to do also at night or during the day

have fun

I agree with BSEA !! go to key largo dive with a dive company. we dove with 'rainbow reef' We have friends that dive with 'ocean divers' there are a bunch of dive shops in key largo and islamorada. If you want shor diving go a little farther north and dive a west palm beach. or better yet go to northern florida and dive the springs. You can dive Devil's den, Ginnie springs,, catfish hotel at the state park. Ned Deloach has a whole book on spring dives in florida. happy diving!!!
