I've been thinking about the Bahamas lately. I've got a couple of free rides on USAirways and want to use them before they go bankrupt. All I need is a fairly clean place to shower, shave and sleep and a dive shop and place to eat nearby. Nothing fancy. No 5-star dude here. I like to do three days of two dives. Any recommendations?

Yes, since you have a couple of free rides on USAirways - take me.

Land Shark Divers - Nassau, Bahamas

Never been there since they're pretty new. On New Providence (Nassau) Their boat dives are with Stuart Cove's.

Stay in the Freeport area. Lots of hotels/resorts to choose from and several good dive operators.

Here is an option:

Discovery Cruise Line - Bahamas Cruise - Official Site - The Best Deals to the Bahamas - Bahamas Party Cruise and Vacations

Then dive with Grand Bahama Scuba :

I went last May had a great time.

we're heading out today to san salvador to dive over at riding rock....while they do set up packages so that diving is included with the room, it's definitely not the club med next door (literally)....i'll be sure to write a trip report and let ya' know how it goes!

I was there in sept. for 3 days... I had the chance to dive one day (2 dives)... I did it with Stuart cove, a very nice dive shop... very nice and the dives where good. We did a wall and a werk. That would be my recommendation, but just make sure to bring $$$, life's pretty expensive over there.

that being said, have a nice trip

I stayed on Paradise Island for 9 days a while back and dove with Bahamas Divers. Nice shop, fun crew. We dove a couple of wrecks and a couple of reefs. We stayed at an AI can't think of the name, it had just changed hands and had just changed names. It used to be the Holiday Inn. No five star place, but the staff was very freindly and we had a good time.
