That's good. If it was any friendlier than this site, I'd start to worry that it was a Stepford Divers.com or y'all were just messing with newbies or something. ;-)

Wait, we're not supposed to mess with the new members?

Well in that case I'm out.

Seriously though, I've been able to connect through here with people to get more info about conditions at places I want to dive, as well as find people who dive hear me that I will hopefully get to dive with this summer.

I was rather concerned that it'd would be difficult to find folks to dive with (I only know one other person at the moment who dives). But after seeing how quick and friendly the folks here are, I'm not too worried I wouldn't be able to find someone to dive with. I'm afraid I won't get the chance often to get to the ocean, so when I do I'd like to be able to make the most of the opportunity.

Warm water? What's that? ;-)

Yeah I'm looking forward to getting to Florida, maybe about this time or March next year. I hear what you say about being a good day. I kayak, and the saying is, "I'd rather be upside down in my kayak than right side up at work". I'm sure there's a translation in the diving world. "I'd rather be in an oxygen-free environment than listening to all the hot air at this meeting..."?

A bad day of diving is better than any day at work. (or in school, which is where I am now)

No oceans nearby maybe, but plenty of other cool places to dive that are only a short drive away.

Yes, it's scubaboard.com. Though I find that the scubatoys forum is a lot more welcoming and friendly.
I agree - to me, scubaboard.com has a different "feel" and I don't know what it is.

It's because "you won't be a good diver until you buy a BP/W" is the answer to all questions.
