Morrison Accesibility?
I had read somewhere, and maybe someone and clarify this for me, that you could dive at Morrison Springs even when closed as long as you could access by boat. It doesnt make sense though that if it were CLOSED, it is CLOSED by water or land. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Michael |

The park is closed (edit: by land). Whether that includes the water or not is debatable.
Ive yet to see crews working on the weekend, so you could really even park at the new gate and dive. Or, there's a boat ramp down the creek. Ive snorkled to it before, so you could easily park there and swim to the spring. Im not exactly sure how to get to the boat ramp. This is a picture from Google maps. Looks pretty easy. Go straight at the fork, take the next left, etc. ALso looks like a simple trail. Dont get stuck. Also, notice the 2nd entrance into morrison? Ive never noticed that at the park before. That would bypass the new gate... Last edited by FishFood : 02-22-2008 at 11:26 PM. |

It's a navigable waterway.... they can't keep you out of the water if you arrive by water. Federal laws prevent from blocking access to navigable waterways.
now with that said, they have a floating crane in there. best not to dive under it while they are running it. |

I had been told there was one by Suprbugman, but I've never been to it. I was planning on checking it out in April when I'm down there.... PM him and ask him. he's much more of an expert on that area than I am. |
