I can't ever find anything at a reasonable price. Most of the barely used stuff is from people who paid way too much for it at an LDS and are asking for prices above what a place like Scubatoys can sell for new.

You've really got to lurk and hunt, but you *can* get nice deals on either site. Craigslist, though, depends on where you are in the world.

But, as always, you've got to decide if your time is worth the hunting required to find the hidden gems.

Truthfully, I've had better luck with lurking and purchasing on SB, or Divematrix. I also feel more confident, as I know I'm purchasing from another diver, and typically a diver is honest about what they have for sale.

The one time I posted a WTB, I found exactly what I wanted, in good shape, for a good price.

Naw, you can buy a used regulator. When you purchase a used regulator, though, just know that it's an intelligent idea to have it serviced when you get it.

I use craigslist all the time, love it. bought 2 tanks, a catilina al80 and a luxfer al92, 2 sets of fins, 2 regulators, 3 wetsuits, and a bunch of masks and snorkels from 1 fella all for 160 bucks. Since the tanks passes hydro I figured was a good deal just for them. have bought a set of jet fins from ebay as well for 40 bucks. but I agree with the others you need to spend some time to find the good deals and weed thru them. craigslist is great, but like ebay, timing is everything.
Just do your homework first
