Just out of simple curiosity, why would you purchase scuba gear for someone who refuses to go diving?

Example; I have a good friend who hates snow skiing.....I chose not to buy him snow skis for his birthday. I got him a 12 pack of Bud Light. He's happy.

My brother needs a little financial motivation sometimes to get him started with things.

I thought that if I reduced some of the startup cost associated with buying scuba gear, he wouldn’t feel so financially burdened.

My version of a stimulus package.

Makes total sense, and seriously I've done the same thing.
