Housing for JVC GZ HD3

I've finally entered the world of digital video recording with the acquisition of a JVC GZ-HD3 video camera. Any recomendations on housing and editing software?

Since there's no LANC port on your camera, you're limited to mechanical housings. So I'd suggest Ikelite. Ikelite Housing for JVC Digital Video Camera

Or Equinox could build a Pro6 around it also. Equinox Underwater Video Housings - by WNRS

A lesson learned...never buy a camcorder if your intention is shooting underwater video without first checking to see if a housing is made for it first.

For editing, I like Adobe Premier CS4. I am prtty sure that Pinnacle programs now work with AVCHD and they have some nice stuff. There are more and more editors out there that are using the AVCHD Codec, but just make sure what ever you by will use it. Have you thought about how you are going to archive your footage? I have a AVCHD Camera that I use for my personal stuff and it will be backed up to two spots. It will be backed up to a hard drive on my computer as well as an external hard drive. I just do not trust the hard drive to last forever with all my memories stored on it.
