Hello from the Bahamas

Just wanted to say hello and a big thanks to everyone at the shop that helped me get some new gear, so I could start diving agian. All the new gear is working great and I couldnt be happier to be back in the water agian. I will probably be buying more toys as the water warms up. Not that 74 degrees is cold, but it'll be nice when wetsuit season is over. Anyway, I'm glad to be aboard.

Yes, where in the Bahamas are you? I'll be diving off of Grand Bahama Island from April 1st-7th.

Really? You are living there? How did you manage that? I was under the impression that is one of the least populated islands. What is your profession, if you don't mind me being nosey??

Deckhand, and yes, it is like living in a 3rd world country. Population of the Island last I heard was about 9,000.

Well I think that is fantastic! Desolate or not, still qualifies as paradise in my book and sure beats an office job!!

What's ironic about this whole conversation is that I good friend of mine is named Steve and he also lives in the Bahamas, he is a dive instructor at a resort on G.B.I. That's what sparked the interest.

I wish you nothing but the very best of luck! One day soon, I'll have my own little piece of paradise, wherever that may be!
