Newbie From Sydney Australia

Hi All,
My names Nick and Im 29 Im a construction contractor from Sydney, Just finished open water course , I have always loved the ocean and used too free dive a lot. From the moment I took my first underwater breath I knew it was for me, being able too stay down for the first time was an unreal experience and now all I can think about is getting back down there, cant wait too get a few dives under my belt, this is a top forum and have read a lot of interesting informative posts here, keep up the good work.

Great to have you on our forum! I'll be in Australia in June, speaking at a conference in Coffs - and will hopefully get a few dives in there!

well if your going to be in coffs then you must do the diving at the solatry islands , great meeting of temprate and tropical species , bay of anemonies is just amazing , i have never seen so many nemos in one place .

welcome NIck

well you live in a good place to do some diving , when you get the chance you must come south to Jervis Bay and seee our weedy sea dragons 90meter sea cliffs and rocky reefs,.

Regards

Matt

Hi from Iowa

Hi, Australia. What is the weather like in Australia? Is it always nice? It seems
like every time I see it on a tv show it is always nice there. That would be nice. Is there a real danger to dive there with that little jelly fish(box jelly)?
So day I hope to come and dive there.

Its not always nice mate, thats a myth people overseas have about Australia this summer has been really wet and we have had a lot of rain here in Sydney, Have had a few nice days though, the box jelly fish is big and the Irugangi (which is a deadly jelly fish only about 1cm long) are only found in tropical waters around North Queensland and parts of Northern Territory and thats only at certain times of the year about 6 months of the year, On the rest of the coast you have nothing too worry about most of our coastline doesnt have these so you will have plenty of safe places too dive.
