Question New Diver from UT

I am making my inaugural dive at Jamaica, Sandals Negril at the end of the month. Does anyone have any advice on how to make my first dive experience a good one?

Nope, I think doing it in Jamaica is about one of the best things you could do to make it a good one.

I'm in the Murray area. I complete my certification tomorrow with my last open water dive at the crater.

When you get some time head out to blue lake not a bad dive not the ocean but not bad for utah . Watch out for the wagon wheel at the crater it's the most dangerous thing in the state also the plastic crab (ha ha).

Hi Imparr and welcome to the boards. I wish I could give you some advice on Jamaica but it has been a few years since I've dove there.
To make the dive enjoyable, try to relax and remember your training, don't hoot, holler, giggle, laugh and smile when you see all of the colors compared to the 'Crater'. It will flood your mask...remember your training.

I haven't seen the crab *shrugs* Watch out for the turtle and the dinosaur though.

There's a turtle and a dinosaur? I've only seen the crab. I'm diving the Seabase on Saturday. We are getting there early to watch them feed the fish.

I saw a turtle and an alligator... missed the dino. No interest in going back to look for it
