Is there anywhere to dive in Birmingham.. My nephew just got accepted to UAB's pre-med program, and we will be visiting occasionally.. Need to know if it's worth bringing the gear along..

I'm in the Florida panhandle. I've heard you guys have some mountain top lakes in Alabama. Any idea where they are and whether they're worth diving?

You've got Alabama Bluewater (www.divealabama) right on the edge of town.

Also, only 4-5 hours drive to the gulf and slightly closer to the Florida springs in the panhandle.

Plus two quarries about 1.5 to 2 hours north in North Alabama.
