The hot hole is one of the best swift water/ strong current training sites you can dive. Get too close to the pipes and you can lose a reg, mask, ect. pretty quick. Getting outside of the current and you'll go from 80s to 40s temp. It's a great dive, just wish my hair would grow back quicker......I'm kidding. cheers |

Yea, the hot hole is fun but the viz usually sucks. I much prefer Jocassee if you are up in this area, although with the ocean as your back yard, I don't know why you would ever make the trip. On a side note, I dove the "The City of Richmond" last week with Express out of Myrles. It was pretty decent, with a surprising number of tropicals (Queen Angles, Scrawled Cowfish). We were also surrounded by the largest barracuda that I have ever seen probably 6' to 7' long and upwards of 70lbs. The spearfishing however was disappointing, all I got were a few spades and I was too scared to tackle the Barracudas with a pole spear. Overall a great experience though.
