Greetings from a Newbie!
Just completed PADI Open Water Certification this weekend with my 16 y/o daughter. What a blast! We have been snorkling for years on our trips to the Caribbean, boy was that a waste after this experiance.
We are ready to go for it and have already planned our Nitrox Certification and looking at our Advanced Open Water Cert. I am a Registered Nurse and my daughter will be entering into her Junior year of High School. We have some easy dive sites around Dallas/Fort Worth, but can't wait to go abroad. Next June we will be on a cruise in the Mexican Riveria, then Hawaii the next year, so we have some great places ahead. Any suggestions for short weekend trips around North Texas? Let us know, and thanks for this forum.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your certification. Mexico isn't too far away. The north Texas lakes offer diving but they can be deep, dark, and low viz. IMHO on a day like today CSSP is a fun dive.
