New To The Forum

I'm new to SCUBA diving and to this forum. I reside in New Braunfels, Texas (greater San Antonio area). I am currently working on my Open Water certification (NAUI). I have had the privilege to snorkel at many places around the world, including Los Cabos, Cancun and Hawaii. Until now, I have never been SCUBA diving. I am looking forward to this new adventure, but I also want to be safe. I hope to make several friends here. Any feedback or advise would be appreciated.

What K9 said, welcome to Scuba Toys. And welcome to the club. Good luck with OW. Once you're certified, try to get with some of the local divers. There are a bunch of Texas divers here on the forum and I am sure that they can steer you in the irght direction.

Hey, Rhino. You're just down the road (I-35) apiece from us in Dallas. Ya know, being that close, you will have make the pilgrimage to Carrollton (next to Dallas) to visit at the Shrine of ScubaToys. There, you will receive the blessings of Father Joseph, pay many alms, and depart with shiny new toys.

Then, you can join us at exotic Clear Springs Scuba Park (Terrell, Tx) to to try-out new toys. At the end of the day, hit the road for your 4-hour trip back to New Braunfels.

Oh, sure, you've been to Cabo. You've to to Hawaii. Big deal!!! Nothing compares to the wonders of a CSSP quarry dive. We have......have...fish and stuff.
//OK, I'm going to quit lying to myself now, you lucky devil. Congrats on snorkeling at Cabo and HI.

Enjoy your OW. Ask questions here. Just let us know when you're driving up (hopefully before gas is $5 per gallon). And do let the forum know when you are going to OW class and the open water class.

The next time I'm in the D/FW area, I will pay homage to Father Joseph.

My in-laws live outside of Longview. We pass thru Terrell several times a year. One day, I'm gonna send the wife and kids eastward down I-20, and I'm gonna stay behind at Clear Springs and play.
