Heyas From NZ
Heyas,
I'm Tim from Wellington, New Zealand. My girlfriend is looking at getting a look in at the bottom so I'm having a hunt for a suit for her. And wound up here.. Gear prices in NZ are pretty steep so commited sellers that stand by their product and don't charge a fortune is what I'm looking for. I'm pretty geared up for freediving - need a new gun - but haven't dived outside of my local waters at least not since I was a kid. |

Kia Ora Cap! Joe and Larry are good blokes, and whatever you order from them, I'm sure they'll take good care of you. I've heard some reports they've shipped to some pretty out of the way spots, and if they can get kit out "to the Boohai", they can surely get a wetsuit to Wellington.
How's the diving down there? I spent some time with friends in Auckland, but haven't dived much south of Paihia.

Ahh water quality is usually good, we do get a lot of chop with a Sou-Wester though. The local south coast is pretty hard hit by dive/fishers but there's still a lot of action out there. We get some of the largest sting rays in the world (apparently) and it;s always fun coming across them in 2 feet of water as you return to shore
.We're heading north soon, not as far as Paihia but just a lil south east of there to Whakatane and runnign back round the coast road to Napier. Never been there before so will have to hit up any locals I see for good spots. There is one coastal marine reserve just south of Napier I heard good things about. No fishing obviously but it sounds like just the place to take my girlfriend for her first excursion. |
