Red face Just Getting Started :)

Hi all!

I just got certified a little over a week ago. I'm pumped!

I went through MTSU, which has an AWESOME program FWIW, and I had a blast! I learned quite a bit, too. I can't wait to learn more, though. This spring I'm hoping to do Nitrox, AOW, and SLAM at least. Then maybe a few others in the Summer. We'll see.

My card just came in the mail today, which was really exciting. Its nice being official and also being able to finally put that NAUI bumper sticker on my truck without feeling like a hypocrite.

Anyways, I'm looking at buying an inexpensive new setup and thats what brought me here! $399 for a complete setup with a basic computer? Holy cow! I do have to admit I hate the look of the BC that comes with that package, but I'll either come to love it or sell it if need be. I do have to talk my wife into letting me do this, though, so wish me luck! It may take a few months.

Brandon

Welcome to the forum & congrats on your cert!!! Call & talk to the guys at ST & they can set you up with a package around the BC you like... You don't have to settle for a pre-made one... Good Luck!!!

NeveSSL: Why SLAM? Why not NAUI Scuba Rescue Diver? Also, change your Profile to reflect your new Diver status. You're now one of us, not a wannabe.

I recently got a low cost BC from ST ....don't really care for the look of it too much, but it is easy to use, fits good, and works very well for bouyency control during a dive!

Thanks guys! Sorry its taken me so long to reply. I forgot I hadn't subscribed to this thread. DOH!

I'll definitely be giving them a call when the time comes. Hopefully around September or so.

Because we use both agencies interchangeably. To be honest, I think my instructors have been leaning toward NAUI with the bit of uncertainty with YMCA of late. So it could be the through NAUI by the time I do it anyway.

Which one did you get coaster?
