HI from NY
Hi everyone,
I have been lurking around reading all the threads and decided to dive in. I have learned a lot dur ing my lurking. I am a very new diver and am always looking for tips on bettering myself. This is a great site. I just got certified Naui last year and had been debating on whether scuba is for me but decided to go ahead and buy some equipment. I am continuing to gather gear. Anyway I am 45 and female. My husband is not interested in diving .But I have a few buddies in my firehouse (I am a volunteer ff). so I have a few dive partners. So hi to all. Jeanne |

dive partner
Hi Caroln,
I am lucky that I have dive partners, but the problem is that they are so much more advanced than I am. For now at least I am a shallow water diver until I get more comfortable. I am working on bouyancy and also clearing my ears which is sometimes tough. I have allergies and it seems harder for me to clear than anyone else. I hate holding people back because I am in the remedial stages. I would love to have someone to grow with and It would be nice to have a a female partner too. Maybe my husband will come around. It sounds like yours did. Nice to chat with you. Jeanne |

dutch
Hey Pir 8,
I like Dutch Springs. I wish the water was warmer, though. It is really close to my family though as I grew up near there. Did my ow dives at Dutch. There is a nice little lake in my town where we go for some shallow water dives to around 20 ft. Very nice to be so close to a decent dive spot but the visability could be better. Nice to meet cha. Hi firenwater, welcome, from another NY'er.
I've been certified for a couple of years and I did most of my diving in warmer climates. This year I've started doing some local diving. The low viz and colder temps are really not a big problem once you get used to them. |
