Diving in Georgia
I was certified in 1994 and have been doing resort and vacation dives. A friend gave a copy of "Diver Down" and it scared me into taking an advanced scuba class to get updated on current techniques and dive issues. I have also updated my dive gear and I am looking forward to trying some Georgia and North Carolina dives.

My b/f and I did the Hyde and Markham off of Surf City, NC this summer and they were wonderful. We were surrounded by sand tigers, and they were amazing. I was scared before we went down, but being completely surrounded by peaceful sharks is really fun.

I highly recommend the quarry just a few miles up I-75 from Loch Low Minn in Philadelphia, Tn. Dive into the Philadelphia Quarry
Mike has done a spectacular job there. They now have air fills, gear rental, and a floating dock for deep water entries. They have sunken boats, and old truck bed, a buoyancy course, and several platforms at various depths I have certified many students there myself. And it's cheaper than Loch Low Minn....I guess you don't get the hot dogs and hot tub there....;-) |
