Hello friends, I am totally new to diving and I think I found my passion. I went on 2 discover dives 12 years ago in Cancun and have never been able to let it go. So this year my resolution was to taking a diving class. Finally this summer I did just that and did my open water certification at our local lake. I could care less if i see much of anything. I am just happy floating around and breathing underwater. Seeing stuff is secondary to me. I think I've Dived and gone to heaven! I went to San Carlos in september and wow what an experience for me! I felt like I was in an aquarium! My hubby did not care for the discover dives and doesn't want to invest time and money into a hobby he isn't excited about but he has been a great support and encourager to get me to do what I have always wanted to do. I just got my new gear and can't wait to use it soon! I just wanted to do a little intro and say hello. Laura

I have to say this forum is awesome. So much information that is so helpful to us newbie divers. I could sit for hours and read everything. It is a good thing i can't go on the internet at work or i would be tempted for sure!

I am supposed to be at lake pleasant this weekend to take my navagating specialty but it got moved to thanksgiving weekend.
No offense but unless i am with a group i am familiar with I wouldn't be comfortable meeting up with someone i have never met before by myself. I do appriciate the invite. I want to go diving and wish my husband was certified but he isn't interested. It makes it challenging for me because i have several male friends I can dive with but since my husband doesn't really know these guys yet it makes it an issue. i just need to drag more people into trying out diving so i have more people to dive with!

Hey welcome aboard! Where did you do your discovery dives in Cancun? If you ever head back down and you want to do some great diving go to Puerto Morales or Palmul. Great dive spots with great dive shops.
Wet Set Water Adventures of Mexico..the best little PADI dive center in the Mexican Caribbean
