Another New Georgia Diver
Hello,
My name is Kenny and I'm a recently certified diver (this past summer) from Augusta, GA. I'd always wanted to take some open water classes but my parents were a little weary of the whole scuba thing. However, I turned eighteen in May so at that point I could sign for myself! The parents have started to come around some, however, (I took my dad to my checkout dives) and I'm pretty sure he'll get certified within the next year. One of the workers at the dive shop in Ginnie Springs suggested this website, and I have to say I'm quite impressed! Hopefully I can absorb some knowledge from all the veteran experience on here. |

Welcome to diving. I can understand your parent's concern, it is a dangerous sport, but you seem like a mature guy and are artfully navigating your independence it seems. Good move involving Dad. My little bro just got certified, so I am hoping for some family diving trips myself. Dive safely.
