Dive Sites in Oklahoma

O.k. I am in Oklahoma for a little while before I return back to Mexico and I cannot seem to find anywhere good to dive. I have tried Grand Lake so far and that was a disaster. I have heard different places from different people on where to go but right before I go I hear from people at dive shops that there is no vis and the water is to cold. Please someone tell me of a place to go. It's to the point to where I am going to go to the local collage here just so I can get my gear wet. Please! Diver in need!

Our lakes 'round here don't cotton to folks what try to dive in Oklahomer after November 1st. It's best that you mosey on down to Cozumel.

Seriously, from Oklahoma. Cozumel is the best bang for your buck.

If you're so inclined, hit up the folks on the DDCN forum:

A lot of them go to Oronogo by Joplin...they might be headed up there this weekend...

Lake Murray
Broken Bow

Both are good dive lakes.

nad of course there's Tenkiller and Elmer Thomas.

But, as was said prior, right now the water is cold, and lakes are probably turning over.

No actually I am here in Edmond OK. I went to Grand to our Grandparents lake house for a Ministry get away and we dived while we were there. I talk to some dive shops and they said ten killer is way to cold and the vis is about 2ft right now. They told me to go to Arkansas but thats a little far away. Where is elmer thomas located and do you have any details?

go to Lake Diver - Bringing light to another way of diving.

They have all the info on all the land-locked diive spots. The pics from ElmerThomas are from me.

They also have some cool dive shirts.
