Dive, Dive, then Dive some more. Get yourself a good buddy, maybe one with a little more experience. The more you dive the better diver you will become. Don't stop with just your basic open water certification but go on and take an advanced course. Diving with good instructors and dive masters will help you sharpen your skills more quickly.
