My son and I (that's us in the picture- if I uploaded the photo right) got certified last May for his 13th birthday. Check out dives were in Key Largo with a dive group here called Seaventures (good guys). On our third day of the trip the group dove the USS Duane wrecj (with instructors) and we reached 100 ft. We were hooked.

I worked on AOW and son got Jr. AOW. We both got Nitrox cert as well (he got SDI cert).

It would be an understatement to say we both now share a passion for diving and especially enjoy the wrecks in Key Largo (Duane, Bibb, Spiegel Grove).

We'll be making our 7th trip to Key Largo in August and my daughter will be joining us to get her OW certification. I also have two younger sons (10 & 8) that are itching to dive- they've just got to be patient for a little while longer.

By the way, I love this board. I've found the stories, experiences, and opinions shared by some clearly talented people to be very helpful.

Welcome! I wish my father and I would have been able to get into diving that early! He now has health issues that will keep him from getting certified but I was able to get certified this past weekend!
