Hi from the UK

Well hello to you all.

I am a new member to this here forum all the way from across the pond in the UK.

I have had my open water since 04 but to most divers horror I havent dived much since qualifying, did a couple of dves in the Red Sea Egypt in 07 but then fell ill for the rest of the hoilday so couldnt so anything more and all I have localy is Stoney Cove, which is a good scuba centre but I'm not really into the colder water stuff, I like it warm.

BUT all that is about to change as my partner is about to do her open water in Spain, she signed up for the PADI e learning course so has done all her classroom work, so hopefully more diving coming up soon it seems as I will have a full time buddy.

So now I'm gonna go all out and become a PADI instructor, move to Spain and open up a dive school by the Mediterranean as the UK weather aint the best and I want more SUN.

You remind me of myself. I got certified in 2001. By 2007 I had maybe a dozen dives. In 2007 I started travelling to the Caribbean (warm water diving). I went from Open Water to now working on my Dive Master (currently Rescue Diver and Dive Master Candidate). Ultimate goal is to become a scuba instructor, move to the Caribbean and open a dive shop. I'm going to spend a lot of time travelling the world and diving at home as well before I do this. I'm in no hurry to move to the Caribbean yet. Most likely I'll work for a few shops in various locations before I open my own shop.

Probably 10 years before I retire to the Caribbean.

I enjoyed my visit to England, but I have to admit, the weather leaves something to be desired.

Good luck on your diving plans. Sounds like it will be a hoot.
