I traveled with a band for 6 years, and the Red Lion in Joplin was a place we'd go play every time we changed up members. They were not too picky there on how good you were, so a lot of pretty decent bands would use it as a tune-up gig. Nasty funky little band house they gave us though!

Welcome to ya... Also another fellow Missourian here, from the St Louis area. I too like to hit up Table Rock. I have not been to Beaver Lake yet but need to get down there...

the red lion closed about a year ago, the good live music place is the Kitchen Pass they have good local and unsigned and small indi bands there every Thurs Fri Sat nights. lots of fun good music food and brew
