Welcome aboard Kevin. Have you been diving at all in Michigan at all?

I was certified in Jamaica and dove for years in the Caribbean. I thought I had pretty good buoyancy control. First time I went diving in Lake Ontario I felt like I just started diving again. Cold water, low viz, two-piece 7mm wetsuit, hood, gloves make a huge difference.

You definitely want to buddy with someone experienced diving the Great Lakes or take a refresher course (PADI calls it Discover Local Diving).
