Welcome to the board. I grew up in Bryan and my mom lives in College Station now. I'm sure I'll be coming home at some point.
Believe it or not I've never gone diving in Texas! Took my first scuba class in Virginia in 1977 after joining the Navy. Lived in Florida after I got out in 1986 until I came back on active duty the end of 2001. That's where most of my diving was before coming to Japan. Be nice to check out some dive spots next time I come home if I can find someone to dive with :-)

Welcome to the SB! Glad you decided to come out of lurking. I got a daughter at Galveston, Texas A & M Univ., studying for Marine Biology right now, heard the diving down there wasn't so good... were we told wrong? If it is good, then heck, my daughter and I will have to give it a try! She's been certified since she was 13. Actually, all our family is now, my youngest, age 12 newly certified over a year ago now, so a big congrats on your son getting certified. What a wonderful bond you will now share with him!
