Good to have another from Alaska here... We're getting a few of you folks... Don't know why you'd dive there?! But welcome either way!

I don't dive here anymore, too darn cold. And the vis is horrible.

Whey... Good! I was wondering about the folks up there! Too cold for this wussy diver!! But I know some people love it up there! The only time I'll dive in 30 degrees is if it's Celsius!

Chamai, Chocoholic.

And thanks for keeping the myth alive that northern diving is terrible. That'll keep the sites uncrowded, unlike the anthill some of the southern reefs resemble.

You're welcome. 10 foot vis is what I call terrible, with 34 degree water.

I was in Monterey last weekend and would have killed for some 10 foot vis. One guy lost his fin in 3 feet of water. We never did find the fin. I did find a nice mask on the night dive tho. Now the 34 I can do without. The coldest I have dived in was 51.

BTW I am from Alaska originally and hope to move back there upon the completion of my military service.

Welcome, too cold up there for me. I would just have to stick to topside activities, like fishing and hunting.
