Hello from Tulsa, OK
Hi everybody! I just completed my OW certification earlier this year. I love scuba diving - it is the best. I already have my next dive trip planned - to Grand Cayman. I am looking to buy a new regulator, BCD, boots and maybe fins. Any suggestions on brand name or type of equipment for a really good regulator or BCD? Thanks.

Welcome! Good to have you on the board!
There are so many options on your gear choices - so much will depend on how much travel are you doing, or are you also going to do cold water in OK in the winter, warm only - are you a stock off the shelf standard size - or need special sizing requirements... do you want adjustable, do you want a computer?? In a console or wrist... and on and on. And the biggie - what kind of budget do you want to stay with? Get a feel for what things you might like - spend some time running through the forum on BC's and get some ideas and opinions, then feel free to PM me or call us up and we'll walk you through the maze of gear. If someone gives me a ball park figure on what they want to spend, and a few of their: "I have to have this - but don't really care about that" type of decisions, I'll give you my opinion on where the money should be spent, and which brands as far as getting the features, durability, and manufacturers customer support that fit your budget. You will get a lot of opinions out here - so don't get too overwhelmed! Keep in mind everyone's opinion is based on what they do... So let's sit back and see what the folks say! ![]() |

Hello & welcome...good to see another Okie on here! I haven't purchased yet, but was in the store this weekend and tried on the Oceanic Hera & Zena Zeagle. I liked both for different reasons, the Zena is alot lighter & smaller but the Hera has more pockets & such. From what I have read so far, a ton of women love the Zena. I guys at ST were very informative & nice to me...even with my OU shirt on
