Hey from NC

Hey,

This seems like a pretty cool site from what I've seen. I'm a diver from NC. I've been diving for about 13 years now. The two local dive shops I deal with are Discovery Diving in Beaufort, NC and Pro Scuba in Rocky Mount, NC. Aside from diving, I also have several reef aquariums and a small scale coral propagation operation. I enjoy catching my own fish for my tanks. I also do a little bit of spearfishing mainly for tautog, flounder, sheapshead, etc. Places I've dove include Hawaii, Bahamas, Jamaica, Florida Keys, and NC. I do most of my diving here in NC. I often volunteer to help local museums and public aquariums in collecting fish and other critters for theit tanks. If anyone is planning to dive in NC and would like to learn how to collect their own tropical fish, I'd be more than happy to teach them how.

Welcome to the board. Thanks for the offer. If I'm ever in NC I might just have to take you up on that.

If I'm ever in NC I might also take you up on it. Wait!, I am in NC. Welcome aboard. I've never done any underwater hunting of any kind and only have a handful of dives in the blue water.

I haven't dove with Discovery yet but I'm sure I will in '08. From what I hear they are top rate.

I'm another NC diver, although most of my time has been spent in Fantasy Lake (not my call, talk to the g/f who likes diving there). My preference is definitely for the blue water.

I was unaware that there was a Beaufort, NC! I know about Beaufort, SC. It is right across the line from me and had a few friends that lived there. Funny stuff, I guess the "Carolinas" love the name!

Yeah, but they're pronounced differently. phonetically, it's <Bow-Fort>, NC and it's <b-yew-furt>, SC
