I have been a snokeler for many year and have decided to "take the plunge to the deep" I begin my certification classes in january and will do my open water in the spring (really cold in upstate NY)
Any beginner advice is certainly welcomed.

You certainly aren't going to regret taking that plunge. As for training, read and understand all the reading. The important information doesn't do any good if you can't recall it when you are 30 feet underwater. Stay warm in Upstate and you will enjoy your dives more..

Welcome. You will be so glad you took the plunge. There will be plenty of information here to help you and anything you don't see, or isn't already answered to your liking, well then, ask away. Look around and have some fun here. Joining here is the second best thing you could have done. Right after deciding to get certified. We'll see ya in some other forums.
