Hi! I just joined the forum. Hope to hear more news about Monterey/Carmel diving news.
I dove Carmel meadows at the spot some people call Wedding Rock, located at North of North Monastery last Sunday. The conditions were right for that area that day, not rough to get in and out. The visibility was about 30-40'. Underwater, everything seemed to be ginger/yellow in color as appose to the usual purplish color of Carmel underwater. The highlight of the dive was the nice topography and a 5' angel shark that was being followed around by a harbor seal. |

I did Butterfly house and east Pinnacle in that area on Sunday. 1st dive did 25 mins at 67 ft. 2nd dive did 20 mins at 55ft..(it was cold 49). On the safety stop, there had to be 100 of the brown "Sea Nettle" jellies. I was doing Matrix like moves to try to keep from messing with em. They were everywhere. You don't always get to see such cool things on your Safety Stops like that.
It reminded me of the old Flying toaster windows screensaver... |
