Hyperstretch vs. others

Is the hyperstretch wetsuits worth the extra money. The cost quite a bit more. I am in the market for a new wetsuit and I dont want to spent that much money if it isnt woth what you have to pay to get one. Anyone who has one please let us know.

i bought my forst hyperstrech product yesterday. sorry but it's not a wetsuit. i went for a dive and forgot my pinnacle boots. i guess i had a very tough night for a sleepless 6 month old. in any case i had to buy a new pair. It was hyperstretch boots (size 7, 7 mm, hard sole). I really liked them in the water. water always leaks through the zipper in my pinnacle boots but i did not feel any water leakage in my new ones. Also, the fit is very good. My buddy loves his hyperstretch 5 mm gloves. I keep hearing the same about the wetsuits. If you find the one that fits you well, you'll love it and people swear that the quality justifies the price. However, the life of a hyperstretch is shorter than other neoprene types.

It depends. If you can find another cheaper brand that feels as comfortable and fits as well then absolutely go ahead and buy it. Hyperstretch is not more insulating than other wetsuits (arguably less) nor is it any more durable (arguably less as well) but what it is is a fantastic fit for pretty much everyone. Two of my criteria for a wetsuit is one that allows full range of motion and is really easy to get on and off. I don't fit other brands which I find too tight in the shoulders or too loose in the back (or both). The hyperstretch is very comfortable and forgiving when my weight yo yos around a bit.

yes...especially if you need the stretch factor..I have a 3mil...easy to put on and take off...and it really does stretch.

I just got one of Hendersons new Thermoprene suits and I'm very impressed with it. They are much cheaper then hyperstretch (around 230 for a 7MM), and they still have quite a lot of stretch. I got this one because I had heard the hyperstretch wasn't as warm, and I was somewhat concerned with giving up the flexibility, but it's definitely the most flexible 7MM I've used so far. I'll probably go with a hyperstretch hood and gloves eventually because those are two areas where the extra stretch is worth the money, but for the main suit, this one has surpassed my expectations.

I have a hyperstretch 3mm. It is the most comfortable suit I have ever worn, however there is some sacrifice of warmth for the hyperstretch. I use my in the tropics. I will never buy a different 3mm.

I have a 3mm hyperstretch shorty and it is so easy to get on. I am usually the first person suited up. I also have no restriction of movement. I haven't really noticed a reduction in warmth but I only dive warm water. I got my suit before the thermoprene came out and I would probably check that out. As I am fairly fit I do not need the full 250% stretch but its nice.

The stretchier the neoprene, the less effective the insulation, and the shorter the lifespan. Simple fact of life.

The fit and comfort is fantastic. Only you can decide if the tradeoffs in cost, warmth and lifespan are worth it for you. Warmer water you're less likely to notice than colder water, which is a shame, because the colder waters calling for thick suits make the extra mobility the stretchy suits offer that much more desireable.

Ive got a Henderson Titanium Hyperstreach 5mm full suit and I love it, but its a lil warmer than I need all of the time. I'm thinking of buying a 3/2 suit but dont want to spend big $$$ on it. I saw that ST has the Bare 3mm Progressive stretch suit for $159.95. Is it a good quality suit?
