Wet suit cleaning
I have a bottle of wetsuit no stink cleaner stuff they sell here at scubatoys but does anyone use some home remedies that work just as well?
How about a vinegar solution or does that have an effect? As for the smell I don't think I would care too much if I smelled like a giant pickle on the boat or beach ![]() |

I never use that stuff myself...never have, just rinse wet suit good inside and out after each day of diving and let drip dry.....but most of my diving is none in fresh water also.

I just rinse my Henderson Fusion Hyperstretch in fresh water and hang it to dry. That's about all I do with all my gear. I hav'nt made many dives in "murky" or muddy water.....Mainlt the Carribean and several dives in Pattaya Thailand.

Mirazyme + thorough drying works well as a preventative, and is safer for your suit.
If your suit or boots get a serious case of the funk, it may be time for an intervention: washing them in Color-Safe bleach (which has peroxides to kill organisms), or in a dilute solution of Listerine works well. You may need to work the suds really well into any problem areas. Just be sure to rinse well before drying. |
