the whole pattern is different.... the torso on men's suits is longer, the legs are shorter. It's not just the curves! tall women and larger women are able to wear men's suits in most cases but for the average or shorter woman, it probably won't fit. (I know this from working in a dive shop and trying on lots and lots of suits on me and also other people so I could give customers honest answers about fit.)

You guys are missing what I think is the biggest difference. The arms are skinnier. I suppose most women don't have the biceps, etc of men, but I can tell you that on womens wet suits, the arms are skinny! Overall, I'm not that much larger than my wife, and I can get into her wetsuits just fine....until I try to get my arms in there. Impossible. Don't ask how I know this, but I do, and it's fact.

Yeah, but are your arms big? When you buy a womens suit that's big enough for your hips and bust, are the arms baggy? Seriously curious here, because I've spent a lot of dough trying to get my wife a suit that fits....and I'm not there yet. |

I've tried on several womens' suits and have found the Henderson Thermoprene to be a great fit. The arms are just right (smaller), there is room for curves and the extra stretchy material is so much easier for putting on and taking off. That and the stretchy material seems to "mold" to your curves without cutting off circulation or pinching too much like others seem to. Last edited by blueeyeddiver : 07-28-2008 at 08:51 PM. |
