Any solutions to being allergic?

I am on the ultimate wet suit hunt and when I find what I am looking for I will make one huge purchase and get it over with.
Are there any suits non neoprene OR any rash guards non Lycra?
If I get a neoprene suit going to have to wear full rash gear under it. I VIOLENTLY broke out {just my legs though} from the wet suit I used this weekend. I am allergic to neoprene{Can't wear Lycra either, nope can't wear panty hose either} but REFUSE to give up Diving.
The first day I was fine was in a 5 mil, was a little chilly for Spain but tried the warm water in the shower as you put on you wet suit. That is awesome. {saw some one mention here in the forums somewhere} I was fine the whole dive never got cold. Got in shower at the dive shop and soaped off after. The second day wore a 5 mil but it seemed thicker and had a built in hood. {Didn't like that at all.} But when I took it off instantly rash that got worse as more air hit it.

Any one know any wet suit combos for my issue?

I have seen alternate materials for rash guards/body skin. It may take some looking around.
As for a wetsuit sub a drysuit is available in other materials along with the undergarments. Not all drysuits are for cold water only diving.

Look into the semidry suits from Waterproof. The lining is made of nylon plush; the shell though is made of neoprene. Check it out: Waterproof - Sweden

a suit lined with Polartec would probably work for you....I used to wear one all the time until I couldn't find them anylonger....not sure if they are still made

If your willing to drop the $$$ why not a drysuit since even a crushed neoprene model would be seperated from your skin by the undergarments.

I've got a friend who's in the same boat and he solved it by using a rubber drysuit. It was the only way he could do it, latex seals and he's good to go.

There are wetsuits out there with polartec liners in them that may work, but it's tough to say if long term it won't cause the same problems because it's but a thin layer. They're not cheap.

Good luck.

My wife is the exact same way. She dives either a lycra skin or a drysuit. There are LOTS of good affordable drysuits out there and they are good for ANY water temp that requires exposure protection.

You'll be happier with this in the long run and it needn't cost that much more than a good wetsuit.
