Having Leg Zippers Installed; where to get them?

I am thinking of having leg zippers installed on my new wet suit when it arrives.. its a Scubapro Everflex 7mm... Does anyone know where I can get them installed? Can i just use a regular taylor with super heavy duty plastic or brass zippers, or do i need to bring it to a specialty store? Is it very costly to do this?

Return it and get a Pinnacle Merino Elastiprene with the ankle zippers already installed.

I have a Henderson Gold Core FJ that I was thinking about having leg zippers installed. I don't know if it would be the same for Scubapro, but I called Henderson and they said I'd need to go to a local Henderson dealer and have THEM set it up - no I could not just send it directly to Henderson. Well, I enquired with the LDS, they enquired with Henderson and the verdict was $45 for leg zippers. I think I can deal with just having to tug a bit harder to get the suit off after a dive.

At 45 dollars i think Ill pass on having the leg zippers... maybe i jumped the gun here on this thing. I guess i should try on the suit before i go buying zippers

the super-stretchy suits don't need ankle zippers. They go right over your feet easily.

if its new return it and get one with zippers...

Although it may be harder to get the suit on without zippers, a zipper will let more cold water into the suit. I would rather struggle on the surface than freeze under water.

It really depends on the zipper. The Pinnacle ankle zippers are gusseted so they will keep water out.

Get in touch with Chris at Terrapin wetsuits, she does custom work plus alterations, zippers, pockets, etc. I got leg zips and thigh pockets put on my Farmer John, and had some alteration done to my wife's 5 ml. 8" zippers for $29/pair.
