Hood question

So ive had my hood for awhile I believe its just a 3mm, but havent been wearing it recently because I get an air head, theres no holes in the top of it, and I get a big bubble in it from the exhaust from my reg, does anyone know a good way that I might put holes in the top of it. I have thought about using a sodering iron before because it might help it not fray, but havent gone through with that, if any one has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks Ryan

Wire hanger and propane torch, straighten out the hanger heat it up with the torch and make a couple of holes.

trick

Grasp a nail with pliers, heating the tip of the nail on the stove. Heating the nail with a torch may give a quicker result. I have found that a single hole is sufficient, so it might be wise to start there. If the hole does not give satisfactory results, then you can either expand the first hole or perhaps add a second, as suggested above.

Hot nail will work too if you don't want to ruin a perfectly good coat hanger. Make sure the nail is in a vise or vise grips and you are not wearing the hood when you make the holes.

I like the vise. Gives 2 hands to hold the hood.

also might be worth mentioning, the very top of your head might not be the best place for the hole. I have a DUI hood that has a space to let the bubbles out but the air doesn't fill up where the holes are because very rarely am i looking straight ahead, mostly looking down or at a 45 degree angle at most, so i'm going to add a hole at the back of my head (just above my mask strap) and one between that and the hole right on the top of the hood. Figuring that should solve the conehead syndrome.

Sort of like not wearing the shirt while you iron it.

Agree. Kinda like laying the sod "green side up"

We do live in a litigious society though.
"Your Honor. My client drove a red hot nail through his skull because of the reckless advise posted by one Mr. Split Lip. Further Your Honor, the owners of Scuba Toys website are also responsible for this injury to my client. Since we are unable to find Mr. Lip, we are seeking the damages from Larry and Joe. We know where they live."

The way I see it, ST owes me.

I used a nail held by pliers as mentioned above. I heated the nail over the stove for a few seconds, it worked perfectly.
