Trimming Hood Face Seal

I have a 7mm hood with a 3mm face seal. The face seal can be trimmed to better fit the wearer's face.

Any magic to this? What should I use / do as far as trimming? Scissors? Razor blade? Should I do anything special to the newly trimmed edges to help prevent any fraying or other additional wear and tear? Thanks.

Put the hood on and trace the edge. Remove and cut with an x-acto or utility knife with a new blade on a flat surface.

Most hoods have an area around the face that can be trimmed without additional treatment to prevent fraying.

Rolling cutting blades (readily available at sewing stores) work well, else a nice sharp pair of scissors will suffice. I'd go with one of those over a regular x-acto knife. 3mm neoprene is not that tough to cut.

a craft / diy / utility knife should slice through it nice and clean, just dont do it whilst on your face

Try stretching it out over a board or something, makes it easier to get a neat line
