my wifes bare
My wife has a bare 3 mil shorty. Whenw e get back from teh lake she rinses it in cold water and baby shampoo and then hangs it up to dry.
She has a nice wide neon green hanger thatshe got at K mart. very wide with a swivel head. She keeps her suit open nad her gear in a long duffle she made. our wetsuits are tossed around. I am not even sure where mine is at this point. I have to admit she does take better care of her gear as a snorkler than we do as divers. jimmy |

Hang it up, please
Hi Joe, neoprene does get permanently creased if left folded for even a few weeks, and those places will be the first to fail when the suit is overstretched. I recommend hanging on a Baker Ventilator hanger... they are very wide and spread the weight over a much broader area than even a padded clothes hanger. It's also important to store them in a room where they won't be exposed to temperature extremes. The neoprene will offgas volatile chemicals if it's stored in a hot place, so it will loose elasticity and degrade faster. Also, if it's a suit with GoldCore, Cobalt, SCS metal, any of those slippery coatings on the inside, I'd recommend storing it inside out, or at least make sure the arms and legs aren't pressed together. I've had customers bring in suits for repair that have stuck closed and then torn when they tried to put them on.
