How to get out from a Semi-Dry suit?!
I have a Pinnacle Polar Semi-Dry wetsuit. It does its job well by have a near-suffocating neck seal and tight tight wrist and ankle seals. Problem is I cannot get myself out from the suit!!
The suit comes with a hood as well, I'll have to get my buddy to pull so hard for me to free myself from the neck seal! It just gets pretty embarrassing on the boat, we're making such a great scene pulling and yanking the suit... Has anyone got similar experience and tricks to overcome this?! |

My buddy has a Pinnacle semi-dry and he can get out of it ok but it takes a great deal of huffing and puffing from both of us to get him into it. I have to make sure that I help him before I put my suit on or I'm ready to pass out from the heat!

Mine is a back zip and the ankles have zippers as well so its not as tough as the pinnacle sounds-I wonder if that one is warmer/drier than mine? No matter-If its too cold I stay out of the thermocline.

I had the same problem with my Semi-dry; it has short little ankle zippers that had my buddy & I tugging and pulling to try to get my feet out every single time.
I tried 1/2 hair condition and 1/2 water - aka "suit snot" - and it worked OK.... but then I tried a product called "Suit Juice" - and couldn't believe how much easier it was! this stuff is super slick and works great! I'm willing to spend the money for the time, energy, and embarrassment it saves me! It's also fantastic for getting gloves back on between dives. |

Find a local shop that deals with waterski's/wakeboard's they make a lube for putting on binding's. Slicker than crazy, comes in a great spritzer bottle, comes in a ton of "smells", the bottle I have right now is green apple, and designed to be wetsuit safe so there is no risk of chemicals that aren't designed to be in contact with wetsuit stuff getting on them. The only thing that is tougher to get on than a wetsuit is a wakeboard binding, think high-top wetsuit boot but made super stiff as well. |
