Coldest anyone dives in 7mm farmer john?

I'm in Michigan and the water will start cooling down soon. Just curious what's the coldest anyone dives in a 7mm Farmer John? I'm gonna stretch it out as far as I can go. Can't afford a dry suit yet, bought the whole rig this summer.

I have a two piece bare wetsuit which is basically a sleeveless hooded jacket over a one piece suit. I dive in it fro April to November in New England. The coldest I can recall has been 42 degrees.

The suit keeps me fairly warm it's getting out of it afterwards that's the problem.

the coldest I dove in one piece 7 mm + 3 mm hodded vest (hood 7 mm) was +7 C. i was freezing. i feel great in 12C and above. when it is below 10 C i start to dislike my dive. i attribute it largely to a bad hood. in farmer john - i did not dive long enough.

I did my OW checkouts in a 7mm FJ with hood and gloves. Temps were down to 42 degrees and the warmest we felt was 47. I'm pretty warm-blooded and was actually fine for all 6 dives, but a lot of the more 'slender' guys and almost all the ladies were miserably cold. Several of the ladies actually didn't come back for the second day of diving.

We dove South of San Diego in May wearing brand new 7MM Pinnacle suits, hoods and gloves. Water was 54-56. I froze. I would not do it again unless I was in a dry suit....it was just not as enjoyable. We were limited by our ability to stay warm not by the amount of air we consumed. BUT, I get a bit chilled after doing a lot of diving, even in the Caribbean with a FJ 3mm.

The coldest I've dived is 44 with a 7mm and a 3mm hooded vest. My hands got cold after about 30 minutes, but I think that was in part due to the gloves I was wearing. I typically dive in the low to mid 50's and am extremely comfortable in the 7mm with the hooded vest.

I dove in 49 degrees in May and was comfortable. We'll see if I can push it to 39. I've got plenty of seal blubber for insulation. I bought a reusable lower back heating pad with a neoprene waistband. It stays hot 30-60 minutes, keeping the kidneys toasty. That should buy me another 5 degrees. I guess I'll be more worried about my reg freezing and free flowing than being toasty, though.

48* in May with a hooded vest and 5mm gloves. The only part of me that was uncomfortable way my face. When my buddy and I surfaced we could hardly talk to each other becuause our faces were frozen. Which then of course led to silly sounding giggles...
