Wetsuit Advice

I am 5'8" and around 260lbs. I am built like a short American Football Lineman and am looking to get a 7mm suit. I emailed Joe @ Scubatoys for his thoughts but I decided I'd post for input.

When I did OW with them I was able to fit in a XXL 5m long but went to a XXXL 5m for my shoulders but after the first dive the XXXL got loose. So I think a XXL 7mm is what I am looking for but I have short arms so I'm not sure.

I'd go custom but as I am currently loosing weight put on after knee surgery I'm holding off.

Suggestions?

Gerry

Thanks to Joe and a little checking around I settled on the Henderson Hyperstretch 7/5 Full 7mm ... Should work well til things warm up here in Texas.

Glad you are all set. I wasn't sure how going from an XXXL in one thickness to an XXL in another was going to help you. But glad they pointed you to a super stretchy fabric.

On my liveaboard trip, there were 4 women all of whom had a Henderson Hyperstretch in the same size, mine was the only long. I'm 5'10" and have slender limbs, one of the others 4'9" and big boned, etc. We kept putting each other's suits on all week and they fit. Only reason I knew I was in the wrong suit was when the legs were halfway up my calves. We all just needed the stretch in different directions. You will be happy with your choice and it should size down with you a bit as you lose.

See, now you're just bragging about having nice long legs.

No, I am whining about trying to find things to fit them! Even the TALL leaves a few inches of skin showing above my tall booties! And let me tell you how much of my youth I spent in highwaters. Ain't easy being me.
