Need Help with getting a .5mm or 1mm wetsuit for a woman

Hi, got a question for anyone out there that may have the same problem as I
am having this year. I dive in only warm water, Bonaire, to be exact and I do not like any of the 3/2 wetsuits out there. I am looking for a .5mm, yup, that's it, I know, very light or even will go for a 1mm for winter diving there. The problem I have had is that I have long legs, 34" inseam and none I have tried have been fitting right. I am 5'7" tall, but all legs, not exactly blessed at the top, if you know what I mean, just a mere size 34 there, but to get the length, the top is always too big. Now, the suits I have tried, Henderson Hyperstretch 3/2 and their lighter version, not long enough on the arms or legs, Akona 1mm, o.k. in the arms and legs, but the neck just went up so high, it left me choking, so no dice there. I just tried an Oceanic Cyber Skin, way too short in leg and arm, tried Bare too, not long enough on theirs either and didn't like the neck thingie. I dive only warm water, don't want a neck line that goes way up my neck. Any suggestions for me? I am not interested in the Neosport 1mm as Henderson makes that and I already tried the Henderson route

you might want to just check this out for giggles. I don't know if this is something like you are looking for. We are aprox. the same size height & bust. I have to have a 3/2 shorty or I will freeze to death.

Yeah, I can't believe how hard it is buying a new one. Glad to hear I am not alone with it. My .5mm I have now, tag is totally gone as to size and the only letters on it are OMI. My suit is at least 9 years old, maybe older, so it really needs replaced. Thought, I would have no problem, go for another .5mm and also get a 1mm full suit. Think I have been trying now for over 6 months and here in South Jersey, lite weight suits are not readily available either.

Sparky, I actually know quite a few gals who are "dive goddesses" out there! Hubby said he would not be seen with me in public if I toted one of them, as they are to how shall I say it, vibrant for his liking, though some of them are pretty cool. At this rate, who knows, I may try one of their more calmer ones. I have heard of custom suits, but for a .5mm or 1mm, is it really worth it?

I don't think they all are too vibrant. There are some tame ones. And some see me! ones.

good luck!

Hi All,

I was on a mini vacation and just catching up here now.

I don't like shorty's, my legs still get cold, so full suit is the way for me. I need at least a .5 or 1mm. BTW, since I was on here last, I ordered a Tilo's 1mm full suit, featherlight and it arrived yesterday. It actually fits, so I quickly ordered a second one. The length was great and arm length as well. I had hubby even eying it up, though he likes a bit more thickness than I and prefers shortys, me, I need to be able to be flexible and just diving on Bonaire, 1mm is fine with me.
When they start making a 2mm that is really, really flexible, no 3mm in it at all, I will check them out.
Oh, I checked Dive Goddess out and they are just lycra and not what I wanted at all. Thanks for all your suggestions, though. At least I found out that I am not the only one out there that finds getting a good fit is hard. The suit I bought now is the closest to good as I am going to get. Will keep looking for the "perfect" fit and let you know if I ever find it!

LiquidFit makes custom wetsuits, but the thinnest they have is a 2.5mm "super stretch".
